About Us:
At Lingvano, our mission is to break down language barriers and build bridges between Deaf and hearing people, which we do through sign language courses, Deaf culture lessons, sharing stories from the Deaf community, and community-building activities.
Role Overview:
With nearly 3 million learners and a vision to reach many more, we are now ready to dive deeper into partnerships. We are looking for a Business Development Lead to help us establish partnerships in the Deaf community, sell our offerings to organizations, and represent Lingvano at online and in-person events. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit, are a super-networker with experience in organizational sales, and want to expand access and inclusion for Deaf people – we’ve got the job for you!
You will play a big role in scaling awareness of Lingvano in the United States and Canada, as well as expand awareness of Deaf needs and opportunities in hearing organizations and spaces.
What you will do:
Create more awareness for Lingvano, by identifying and exploring for collaborations with people and organizations
Identify where Lingvano can support Deaf needs and opportunities in the workforce, by building and nurturing relationships across both the Deaf and hearing communities
Increase Lingvano’s sales with top educational, corporate, and governmental prospects, by developing and executing on a corporate sales motion
Drive sales and partnership results, by pitching and negotiating deals, and adjusting strategies based on results
Keep key stakeholders informed and internal plans aligned, by reporting on the results of your business development activities
Improve company-wide outcomes, through communication and collaboration with other departments such as Marketing, Product, Business Operations, and Learning Content
What you should bring:
You are fluent in English and American Sign Language (ASL)
We particularly welcome Deaf applicants, and strongly prefer individuals who are actively engaged in the Deaf community
You have awareness of cultural sensitivities and nuances when it comes to Deafness
You have insights into Deaf accessibility and inclusion in the US working context
You have 3+ years of work experience in business development and sales
You have an entrepreneurial mindset, ability to operate autonomously, and strong organizational, prioritization, and communication skills

This position is intended to be permanent, with 40 hours per week. This job is open to begin immediately, but if you cannot start immediately we still encourage you to apply. Compensation is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
